Single Mom living my best life. Love to Travel and Teach my son to Travel as well. My hobbies is listening to music and cooking . I'm also a Maseuse. Mom
How and when did you first start playing mas?
My parents are Caribbean and raised me on my Carribean culture. I started out in kiddies Mas until I was 15 and by 16 I was allowed to play big Mas.
What carnival experience has been your favourite (and most proud) to date?
I have always been fascinated with Trinidad and Brazil. I have never had the opportunity to play Mas back home in Trinidad it is only recently that I started playing Mas abroad. I played Mas in the Bahamas May 2018 and that opened my eyes. I had the best time ever.
What are some of your must-have carnival essentials?
Definitely comfy shoes, tights and plant glitter
Describe your perfect mas experience:
No violence and everyone enjoying the culture and what it means.
What would you like to tell people about mas, that they may not know?
Be free. Sing like nobody listening . Travel in groups. Come out to whine .
Would you change anything about playing mas in your city?
Yes no under age children and play all kinds of soca not just one song over and over.
If you could play mas with one soca artist, who would it be, and why?
Bunji Garlin . I like them dark for one. He hypes the crowd and is full of energy on top of that he has a very very sexy voice
Do you think there is currently an unspoken age or size limit on playing mas?
It's more about size. Age is always beautiful and in different states and countries you can see an elder play mas, but when it comes to a body image costumes are designed to cater to small petite size and plus women have to pay extra just to have on a all in one bodysuit.
Do you have a message of encouragement for the #everyBODYplayahmas network?
Always be a Phenomenal Women in your own skin.
Tell us about your journey to becoming a confident woman:
My journal started 6 years ago when my husband passed away. I had to live for my son. Eat healthy and exercise.
Do you have any mentors/role models who have inspired you along the way?
My Grandmother was a great Mentor for me. She traveled and gave me an open journey to a new life of what was in the world
How do you think movements like #everyBODYplayahmas assist masqueraders?
By giving them confidence to embrace themselves and hold their heads high.

My experience as the Face of the Festival for Toronto Carnival 2019

I  have been attending Caribbean carnivals since a child, and each and every experience is unique and special in its own way. From Trinidad to Jamaica, and Atlanta to Washington, each carnival has its own flavour, its own style, and its own vibe. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I can’t help but have an appreciation for our carnival and feel a personal responsibility for its execution and the enjoyment of everyone. Whether through volunteering, participating, or helping administrators and costume makers along the way I have always tried to have my hand in the production of Toronto’s carnival. This year, as the Face of the Festival (along with Joel “The Connector” Davis), I was blessed with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to officially represent the carnival in public and in mass media, and the honour was everything I could have asked for, as a support of our hometown festival. It all began with my application for the Face of the Festival competition, where I...

Ubersoca Cruise 2023: A Project Manager's Perspective on Sailing into Soca Paradise

This year marked a thrilling chapter for me as I stepped into the heart of the action, not as a reveler, but as a key player in the execution of the unforgettable Ubersoca Cruise 2023. As a project manager overseeing event execution and liaising with artists and DJs, I gained profound insights into the orchestration of this colossal and amazing event. Destination Delights: Belize and Costa Maya Sailing on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas, we made stops in the enchanting Harvest Caye, Belize, and the vibrant Costa Maya, Mexico. The familiar throb of excitement synonymous with USC was seamlessly transported onto the Explorer of the Seas. Musical Bliss: Concerts and Pool Parties The sonic landscape of USC is always a highlight, and this year was no exception. The White Onyx concert featuring Ricardo Drue, Alison Hinds, Shal Marshall, Patrice, Voice, and King Bubba set the stage for a musical journey. The Olympic Swim Team pool party made a splash, but the real knockout was the Fig...
